Envoys of Chaos is the first campaign of RPG with Chaos. It followed the story of the Duchy of Kalesia and its northern neighbor - North Kalesia.
Events
The campaign can be divided into four chapters.
Chapter 1 - The Priest's Tragedy
The party arrives to Tetran City and investigates the murder of its mayor. To find the murderer and save the wrongly accused General Mentir, they investigate the city's deepest territories and uncover an underground resistance group, calling themselves the Blooming Brotherhood. Ultimately, in the trial led by Duchess Kremówka they succeed in presenting enough evidence to indict Bishop Veriti, known to be a key figure within the Brotherhood.
Chapter 2 - Voices in the Mists
The party departs from the city further north, where they find themselves lost in the Lonely Forest. Within it, they rescue a green dragon wyrmling from capture. Deep within the woods, they find a village and its crazed resident - the Hunter. The Hunter held multiple beasts, fiends and aberrations in captivity deep below his home. In a grand revelation, the Hunter is revealed to be a werewolf said to torment the village. In a sudden moment of clarity, the Hunter recalls the source of his insanity. The chapter ends with a clash of the werewolf joined by the party against an illithid in the Hunter's secret room deep within the woods. In Lost Legion Rises the Hunter reveals, that the room was supposed to hold Garten Gor, until he infected him and escaped.
Chapter 3 - Envoys of Chaos
The third chapter reveals the grand plot of the campaign. The party is recruited by Duchess Kremówka, who joins them in a secret infiltration mission deep within North Kalesia to retrieve the stolen plans of the Duchy's secret project - Blaster. On this adventure the party first meets Carlo Hellberg and the Slipper. Ultimately the party meets the Grand Officer of North Kalesia, who is revealed to be manipulated and locked up from the real nature of his country by his highest officials. As the party departs with the Blaster in tow, the Grand Officer attempts to regain control over his homeland.
Chapter 4 - Reminiscence
The party returns to Duchy of Kalesia, where an invasion occurs. In a grand twist, a previously inconspicuous Scribe, who occupied key positions in the Duchy, is revealed to be a spy of the North called the Rat, who allowed Blaster's theft to come to fruition. Joined by his recruited army of green and white dragons - the Rat's Torpedo, he attempted a coup of the Duchy of Kalesia. The ducal guard, with the aid of the party, has managed to fend off the initial ambush, while the troops loyal to the Grand Officer from the north dealt the final blow to the invaders.
Epilogue
After the Rat's Torpedo has been defeated and the antagonist imprisoned, the tension between the Kalesian nations seemed to decrease. Unexpectedly, Carlo Hellberg interrupts the national assembly to activate his contracts made with the party and the Duchess on their travels. His attempt to overthrow the Duchess was cut short by Prakazrel's intervention. The god captured Carlo and promptly left. The party disbanded and appeared to follow their own desires yet again on their own - at least until the contracts were truly activated yet again before their reappearance in Lost Legion Rises.
